Portrait or Personal Image - Sandy Kiaizadeh

“Find your bliss”

I recently finished reading Anderson Cooper’s 'Dispatches From the Edge'. In it, he describes his personal and professional journey to becoming the man he is today. He recalls a time during his young adulthood when he asked his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, for advice on what to be when he grows up. To his bewilderment, she simply replied “Follow your bliss”. Of course, he had been hoping for a more concrete piece of advice than this - a little more direction, perhaps something along the lines of “be a doctor or lawyer”. Instead, all he got was “Follow your bliss”. He only got around to appreciating this advice, understanding it more, as time passed.

This particular anecdote resonated with me, and has remained in my thoughts long after I finished reading the last sentence of his memoir.
I’ve always loved taking photographs of people I knew and places I’d visited. I’ve always been most at peace and happy peering at the world through my lens – an observer, capturing those split second moments to cherish for life.

A newborn, meeting his daddy for the first time.

A baby’s bath time, giggle or wail.

A toddler, discovering something new for the first time.

A child, engrossed in her imaginary world while at play.

A joyous celebration bringing loved ones together.

A quiet, thoughtful moment by a groom on his wedding day.

A loving glance exchanged between two people.

A serene vista at dawn or dusk.

A good photograph can evoke these precious memories.

A good photographer will capture these treasures of life.

I have found my bliss.
What is it?
It’s documenting my clients’ treasured moments - those keepsakes that, collectively, make up the most important parts of our lives.

I have found my bliss and have chosen to follow it.

Now I’d like to help capture yours!

My name is Sandy, and I live and work in the Toronto area. I invite you to have a peek at my gallery and to contact me if you're looking for a photographer to capture your treasured moments.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Om,
Sandy
